The Roots of Leftier Than Thouism

George Harrison- Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)

Many have wondered how I became such a groovy, free-spirited peacenik. Until recently, I was incapable of providing an answer. On November 17th, 2011 a friend channeling the High Goddess revealed all. I am an idealist dreamer.

General estimates place the percentage of INFP's at 1-2% of the population. Others claim the number is closer to 5%. Either way, there are not that many of us. First things first. What is an INFP?

Noted intellectual Carl Jung devised a theory on personality. He came up with a formula which later transformed into classifying each of us into one of sixteen categories.

Now before anyone starts moaning this sounds like Cookie Cutting 101, I beg to disagree. One should hold back such preconceived notions, until one has thoroughly looked into personality theory.

I, for one, believe Jung was a genius who came up with something spectacular. While astrology seemingly makes a lot of sense on many levels, imho, the science of the cosmos is nowhere near as relevant compared to Jung's personality theory. The latter is much more effective in providing a personal key for one to unlock her or his own inner nature.

Personality theory is broken down into sixteen groupings based on permutations of four different one or the other traits we each possess. I'm an INFP. That acronym spelled out is "Introverted Intuitive Feeling Perceiving."

The opposite of that would be ESTJ or "Extraverted Sensing Thinking Judging."

For those who want to find out what group they are in go to this link and TAKE IT NOW! Scroll down and click on "Basic Personality Type Test." Afterward, you can check out this page for further info.

To be a true leftier than thou, one needn't be an introvert. ENFPs also possess the personality trait consisting of idealism. We are the only two which do. Putting extraverts to the side, I decided to isolate variables intuitive (N), feeling (F), and perceiving(P) in order to understand what makes an INFP an idealist or say utopian. Here are my findings:

INFJ: similar but anal retentive.

INTP: similar but inaccessible know-it-alls.

ISFP: similar but lack the abilty to reflect and take action.

In short, my child-like curiosity got me wondering why INFPs and ENFPs are the only two of the sixteen who possess an ability to sincerely care about saving the planet. It's not that I belittle those from the other fourteen personality groups who are essentially posing when displaying such sentiments. I do want them to keep on keeping on being wonderful and delightful for the benefit of humanity.

My conclusion is that not one of the three variables can be touted as the main reason why INFPs possess such incredible warmth and soul. It appears that all three traits work symbiotically to instill in idealist dreamers that which makes us soooo much more adorable in profound ways to the rest of ye.

From the second link above, here is a little bit describing INFPs:
Quiet, reflective, and idealistic. Interested in serving humanity. Well-developed value system, which they strive to live in accordance with. Extremely loyal. Adaptable and laid-back unless a strongly-held value is threatened. Usually talented writers. Mentally quick, and able to see possibilities. Interested in understanding and helping people.
