Since being banned from Youtube, I have received two copyright strikes for posting public domain movies. I am provided with a link to dispute the strikes, but that only leads to a page saying my account is inaccessible.
The first one was for The Naked Kiss which is available here via the wayback machine.
The new one is for Scarlet Street which can be legally viewed through this link.
I lost track of how many times some sleazy company had attached a claim to a public domain movie. Most of the time, though, it wasn't a copyright strike but rather a demented attempt to make money off of what is not theirs.
If a new super website is not created soon which allows for free speech and association, we are doomed as a country and world.
This blog is dedicated to the memory of David Weintraub, who took on insidious astroturfers and won.
