The internet took off after the t.v. talk shows hit the skids

This is a short documentary just covering confrontational sleazy talk shows e.g. Morton Downey Jr., Sally Jesse Raphael, Geraldo, Oprah et al. Joe Pyne should not be forgotten for influence but was from before this era. Radio shock jocks are also not mentioned. It's on that specific Jerry Springer styled stuff.

It's sort of predictable and especially the ending but fairly accurate and quite newsworthy in spots. Scott Amedure was murdered in 1995. The internet was pretty much established by 2000. It's not the greatest video but probably a good primer for someone new to the topic. It's important to be aware of medium history. It is McLuhan's rear-view mirror.
